Uvada, from the Spanish language, means “a bountiful harvest” and this wine delivers on the promise. A vintage advertising poster inspired Uvada’s elegant label.
Winemaker John McKay says of the 2002 vintage, "As with earlier vintages, the 2002 Uvada shows ripe and fruity aromas of red currants, milk chocolate, and toasty French oak. The rich flavors, mature tannins, and lingering finish make this wine worthy of its namesake."
The wine is a blend of 95 percent Merlot from Andy Beckstoffer’s "Vineyard X" and 5 percent Cabernet Sauvignon from the Yount Mill Vineyard "Pelissa Block," in Oakville.
